What does that RED FLAG flying over the Silver Creek soccer fields mean???

red_flag-2010

When the RED FLAG is up the fields are closed to GNW members and their guests, and any activities or practices scheduled for field usage are cancelled or postponed until further notice.

This usually occurs after our area experiences a big rain storm where we receive a lot of water downfall.

For public safety and to prevent damage to the turf, affected soccer fields are closed temporarily. There are two flags in use, and sometimes only one will be up if only that particular area is affected by water downfall.

Flag #1 is located behind the Silver Creek sand volleyball courts for the U6 soccer field at the corner of Timber Path and Timberwilde.

Flag #2 is located behind the Silver Creek tennis and basketball courts for the larger soccer fields.

The Grapevine Hotline number listed below is available 24/7 for GNW members inquiring about the status of RED FLAG field closures, as well as general information updates for inclement weather affecting GNW Recreation social events and activities.
