SOCIAL EVENTS
Almost any holiday is a good enough excuse to hold a social event at the Great Northwest. Starting the years' events in January with the *Polar Bear Swim* on the 1st, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Memorial Day Social in May, the GNW 4th of July Parade & Social, Labor Day Social, Adult Luau, Halloween Haunted House & Haunted Hayride, Adult Halloween Costume Party, Veterans Day and Hot Chocolate Social are some of the events that take place! We are ALWAYS LOOKING for volunteers to help with these events such as set-up, picture taking, decorating and participating! Schools, Clubs and Organizations have helped volunteer in the past and are invited to particiate in the future. Please call our GNW Lodge M-F 8:30am to 7pm if you or your group is insterested in becoming a volunteer for our next social event! 2010 Event Schedule: Polar Bear Swim-January (New Year’s Day) Easter Egg Hunt-Easter Weekend (Saturday) Spring Fling & Vendor Showcase-April GNW Annual Meeting-May (1st Thursday) Memorial Day Social-May 4th of July Parade-July (CANCELLED) Luau (Adults Only)-September Labor Day Social-September National Night Out 2010-October Halloween Party (Adults Only)-October Haunted House & Haunted Hayride-October Craft Show-November Veterans Day-November Hot Chocolate Social-December Holiday Lights Contest-December FRIDAY September 17, 2010 SC POOL 6PM-12AM ADULTS ONLY BYOB -volunteers needed-		Volunteers are always needed to staff our social events. Call the GNW Lodge at 210.681.2983 to sign up for any event. Volunteers are needed to help with our annual Haunted House & Haunted Hayride from decorating the wonderful maze our Maintenance crew sets up each year inside the GNW Lodge, to lining up kids for the Haunted Hayride in the greenbelt behind the GNW Lodge, passing out candy to Trick-Or-Treaters, and helping SCARE the pants off our guests inside the Haunted House itself or outside in the greenbelt! If you're interested please contact the Recreation Director or staff in the GNW Lodge to sign-up. Haunted House & Haunted Hayride October 29th & 30th, 2010 7pm-9pm (our volunteers get a break at 8pm) COSTUMES WELCOME! Contact the GNW Lodge 210.681.2983 ADULTS ONLY HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY! Saturday, October 16th, 2010 8pm-12am GNW Lodge Residents and their guests are invited to have loads of fun during our *Halloween Costume Party. This event is usually catered by a local restaurant/vendor and is BYOB. Volunteers are needed to help with decorating the GNW Lodge* & set-up. Please Join us for a SPOOKTACULAR EVENT!
