2005 Soccer Season
Started March 19th

Join us on the Silver Creek Soccer Fields for the 2005 Soccer Season in the Great Northwest! This season we will have three fields for our kids to play on simultaneously.

We also have a new sand pit for the younger crowd to play in while their older siblings enjoy the game. (Don't forget to shake the sand out of those shoes before going home.) Click on photo for larger view. (Photo supplied by Director Jason Kelly.)

Soccer season is here and almost 300 children are playing on 25 teams in the Great Northwest. Saturday, March 19 was opening day.
The season started out with a ceremony announcing each of the teams, coaches, players, and referees. The weather was perfect for the season opener. You may have noticed something new, a concession stand. Our volunteers will be selling snacks, drinks, candy, hot dogs, and other items throughout the season. All proceeds go back into the recreation leagues for sports equipment.

To better our league, 27 of our soccer coaches attended a soccer coaches certification course sponsored by the Kids Sports Network. This coaches clinic is meant to improve coaching skills.

Each month, Dominos Pizza, 9381 Culebra Road sponsors a GNW team of the month. Last months team was the Under 13 Spurs basketball team. The April Team of the month is the U- 10 Galaxy soccer team.
